Today.

I didn't wake up until nearly 1pm, so I didn't do any homework before I went out...which I might have done otherwise (maybe).
Went into town with Rozzy and bought 2 t-shirts and a jumper, and also exchanged my jeans for some shorter ones despite the fact I've worn them at least 3 times. Annoyed that I'm apparently only 30" leg though. Pshhh.
We got completely soaked on the way home.
The most interesting (ha) point of my day was hearing METRIC in Topshop! Rozzy didn't care but she knows nothing. They will be super famous here before next year is over. Their cd is also featured on the urban outfitters music section.
I also heard Crash (Gwen) in H&M which was strange. But peng.

Anyway, I should be doing my homework now, especially since Mica's already finished her art (ugh).
But I still won't.

Christmas!

I got home yesterday after going away to South Creake for a week. It was great, as usual - watching a lot of TV, playing a lot of Gamecube/DS and barely stepping outside.
I got some good presents; £100 and £20 H&M vouchers, Gwen Stefani dvd, pyjamas and Sound of Music tickets for me and my mum in April! VERY excited about that!

I also got some good stuff in my stocking.

Christmas was only slightly spoiled by a cold which started on Christmas eve and didn't go away til a couple of days ago. But I'm quite often ill around then anyway so not too bad.

A few photos (taken by George). The only ones we really have and not that fascinating.

The tree: Me and Kate had to decorate it, so we did so as quickly as possible in order to get back to doing much more important things (watching crap tv). Joanna tried to tidy it up a bit but it still looked quite bad - random bits of tinsle hanging off, not many decorations etc.

Olly and Kate: George was taking a picture of Olly with his new camera, Kate managed to get in the way at the last minute. Well good.

Me on the beach: It was Boxing day, it was cold. We went on a short walk and I wore my converse, not knowing that the beach would have what looked like rivers running along it which we had to walk through. So I was ill with no make up, wet feet and jeans, and people kept trying to take photos of me. But this one makes my hair look shiny so it's ok.

Overall though, I had soo much fun and I want to go back NOW!

Town!

I went in by myself, becase Rozzy's ill, and I got some clothes! Finally..
I got paid £30 for babysitting last night (he came back 2 1/2 hours later than he originally said) so I had lots of money, and I bought some new jeans, a dress, some necklaces and a few extra presents. My dress is kind of more fancy that I would like, but it will be nice to wear at new year with my purple tights and the necklaces. I couldn't find any really casual ones, and it was only £15.

In 1 week we will be in South Creake! Yay and Hooray! I'm sooo excited for Christmas..

A myspace rant.

I would write about this on myspace, but then I would kind of be as bad as the people who I am talking about.
Basically, this is about myspace bulletins. The only thing they are good for is surveys, and I will never change my views on that one (woo, the pact!)
I used to hate picture comment bulletins more than anything, but even these now seem almost okay next to ones by certain people who use them to whine and whinge about their terrible, terrible lives.

An actual extract:
'Each day is just like something to get done with.
To finish. To get over.
I don't live. I exist. Thats it.
I make no difference in anyones life.
No ones sitting at home thinking,
I really wish I had (NAME) with me.
Because no one really cares.
Not about me.'

An extract from the same person's profile:
'I have too many problems than I care to talk about.
So does (NAME).
We've had it harder than is fair tbh.
But soon it will change.'

And an older extract from the same profile:
'I'm shit. And tbh you really don't know what it's like.'

SO many things annoy me about this type of thing.
1. It's plainly attention seeking, however much you might deny it. All these people want is hundreds of their myspace friends to reassure them with 'Awww, don't say that! I love you, you're perfect!' And this is what they get. Which obviously just encourages them.

2. Ok, so you might be feeling bad about their life, you might feel like it's too hard, but here is what you do. Tell one of your friends, or someone you're close too, talk about it, tell them anything you like. What you do NOT do is alert every single person on your friends list - most of who you probably don't even know very well, if at all - of your problems. They don't care, and if they do then more fool them. It makes you sound pathetic and arrogant. GET OVER YOURSELVES.

3. Your life is NOT worse than most peoples. You do NOT have more problems than them. The only difference between you and the majority of people is that they don't feel the need to cry about every single thing that goes wrong in their life on a worldwide web page. Everyone knows what it's like to be sad, to hate yourself, to feel stressed, to fall out with friends. Everyone else manages to keep it to themselves or tell people who care.

There are other reasons, but I'm bored. No one who does this kind of thing reads this anyway, but I really felt like writing it all down somewhere. Aren't blogs great?

Dumdiddly...

Again, nothing much to write about.
Got both my secret santa presents at the weekend, as well as my mum's birthday present, and then ordered George's and dad's from Amazon. Next week I am GOING to buy clothes (preferably dresses).
Other than that absolutely basically has been happening in my life. Alice has one of the new iPod nano and I want one too. And I made some new signatures for the NDFF.

For some reason they won't upload onto here any bigger than that..

'Ello.

Well, not much to say, but I haven't written in here since monday so I thought it was time for an update.

I've listened to The Sweet Escape around 20 times. Really like it, mostly.
Going into town tomorrow with Rozzy and Alice to do some Christmas shopping, and possibly get some clothes (unlikely).

Then 7 school days and it's the holidays! Pizza and Alice's for Secret Santa on Wednesday, Christmas party here on Thursday and leaving on Friday! And of course, New Year party when we get back!
Should be good, but I have loads of homework too soo...

That's about it for now.

THE SWEET ESCAPE!

Finally!

My dad bought it for me on the way home from work, and I went up and listened to it straight after eating.

Here is my 'analysis' of each track:

Wind it Up: Love it. It's so great to be able to play it nice and loud in my room whenever I want...so dancey, and great to sing (shout) along to.

The Sweet Escape: Also amazing. I'd heard a clip of it, but it's so much better high quality.

Orange County Girl: The verses are really good, the chorus is much weaker than it was live, but still a good song.

Early Winter: Beautiful. I really love it. Best played loud, and sounds a bit like Keane (unsurprising given that it was produced by a band member) but with Gwen's voice, which makes it cool.

Now That You Got It: This one's good. Takes a few listens, but quite catchy, if very repetitive.

4 in the Morning: Lovely tune, but a bit overdone on the beat in my opinion. Someone's gone overboard with the drum machine. Still good though, and gets better every time you listen.

Yummy: Errr...I actually think this might grow on me, scarily. It's a rap song basically, and not really my sort of thing. And it is just WEIRD at the end.

Fluorescent: Like it, but again, maybe too heavy on the beat or something. I think it'll grow on me a lot though.

Breakin' Up: This just isn't that good. Probably one to skip. Also, the end sounds like Fergie. A LOT.

Don't Get it Twisted: It's alright, also might grow on me.

U Started it: I didn't like it from the title. Slightly better than I expected, but not much.

Wonderful Life: Love it. I'm so glad she put this one on, one of my absolute favourites. You can definitely tell it's a leftover from LAMB!

Overall, at least as good as I expected! I knew I wouldn't like them all, but there are some great songs on this cd, and I'm VERY glad I have it!

Art homework.

So after weeks of avoiding it, I'm finally finishing off my 'final piece'.
I completely messed it up just before half term, and so put it aside and out of my mind. But since it's 2 weeks until the holidays, when we absolutely have to have them done, I thought it was about time I did something about it.

And I have, and it really didn't take that long. A few finishing touches to do (as well as the whole of the tree to paint on the half that's still at school) but it actually feels GOOD to know that I've done something for once.
W00t!

Blahh.

So today I had my hair cut, and it looks the same but shorter which is fine.
I also got my (2) new pairs of glasses. The normal ones are nice, always hard adjusting to the amazing clarity of everything though. I'm having second thoughts about the pink ones though...not that there's anything I can do about it.

I also went into town with my mum, but was hit by a wave of depression in Topshop after listening to some girl who worked there talk to her friends in the changing room for aages about how gorgeous they all were and all the guys who had asked them out and all the great parties they were going to.
Ok, so slight exaggeration there, but you get the point.
So we went home, and I have no new clothes, despite the fact I got £20 from babysitting last night. I've found some stuff on Topshop.com I might like though, but if I can get any my mum will have to pay for some of it, which I'm not sure she'll do..

Monday!

I'm excited! There have been quite a few good reviews of 'The Sweet Escape' - the Guardian gave it 4/5 stars, which is pretty generous for them.
Also, dad says he will probably get it for me on Monday, so double hooray!

I'll probably end up hating it or something, but you never know...

In other news...errr...well nothing actually. What a boring blog.
